I have always been one to wonder what is wrong with our vehicle if the check engine light comes on. When this happens, we usually have to take the vehicle in to get it tested and let us know what's going on with our car. Taking our vehicle to the mechanic is not one of my favorite things...for the smallest test or repair it usually ends up costing a lot of money. I'm really glad I came across CarMD, which can help save us a trip to the mechanic...saving us time and money. Using the same technology as that of a mechanic, the award winning, CarMD diagnoses the health of vehicles 1996 and newer including cars, light trucks, SUVs and minivans in the U.S.

This handheld gadget can be used to:

• tell you why your check engine light is on and give you a cost-estimate for needed repairs
• double check what your mechanic is telling you
  
• catch hidden engine problems
• see if your vehicle will pass an emissions "smog test"
• examine a used car before buying
• give your car a "check up" before going on a trip
  

We were sent the PC compatible CarMD tester and software kit which comes with the handheld tester, a quick reference user's guide, CD (software, video and help documents), USB cable and 2AAA batteries.

I was amazed how easy this little device was to use. You definitely don't need automotive experience to use it which is great! To test your vehicle, you simply plug it in the diagnostic outlet of your vehicle. Turn the key to the on position and let CarMD read your vehicle's computer to see if there any problems. You know it's finished when it beeps four times and one of the LED lights comes on (green (everything ok), yellow (possible problem) and red (service required)).
The device can hold up to four codes to let you know if there's anything wrong with your vehicle. If you get a yellow or red light, simply connect the CarMD tool to your computer using the handy USB cable and PC software to gain access to CarMD's online database to find out what's wrong. This will give you a detailed diagnostic report of what's wrong in easy to understand language. It also tells you the most likely fix and estimated repair costs.
When we plugged it into our vehicle there were thankfully no problems found. I'm really happy to have the CarMD though as it helps to put my mind at ease knowing that we have a way of testing the "health" of our vehicle. This will especially come in handy before going on long trips or checking a car before we buy it. It's such a convenient way to monitor our vehicle!

Just a couple of a weeks ago I posted a review about Hasbro Toys, a company trusted by families for generations and one who is known for some of the most well known toys and games available today!

I'm excited to have the chance to share with you a little more about Hasbro and the great products they offer! What I think is so amazing about Hasbro, is that they continue to keep the traditional toys like Playdoh and others while still updating them in new ways to suit the interests of our children today. They take the simplest of toys and turn them into something children can do for hours on end!

This fun toy is back and better than ever! It offers interchangeable molds which give kids everything they need to create the perfect Play-Doh hamburger that includes things like lettuce, buns and more!


Just before Kaelyn turned 2, I started thinking about introducing her to Play-Doh. I wanted it to be fun and also wanted it to be something that encouraged learning, the use of her fine motor skills and more! I found this to be true of the Play-Doh Burger Builder and couldn't be happier that we have it now for Kaelyn to use time after time. Although it is recommended for ages 3 years and up...I found that when helping her out she still had a blast when using it! The fact that she's having fun and learning at the same time is what I love so much!

A toy that I had not heard of, but had the opportunity to learn a little more about is their I-Dog Plush Puppy toy.
This particular item is recommended for ages 6 years and up, available in a variety of colors, and retails for approximately $14.99. I wanted to hop on the computer quick and update you with news of our little one's arrival! Kaden Scott was born on Monday morning and is absolutely perfect. He is such a sweet little boy...we are so in love with the newest addition to our family! Kaelyn is a very proud big sister and LOVES to hold and kiss him! We feel truly blessed.

I was thrilled to have the chance to try out this product, as finding new ways to kill the germs and bacteria in our home is one of my top priorities...especially this time of year! I was curious to see if it actually does what it claims to...and after having had the chance to use it, I can tell you that it truly does! I plugged it in a number of rooms in our home...currently it's in our living room. I have found the room to feel much fresher and don't notice any odors that may have been there before. I found this to be true in every room I put it in! One might expect something like this to be loud, but I hardly even notice it's plugged in. It only makes a soft humming noise, which I actually find to be quite pleasant. One thing that's really great about this product is that, unlike other Air Sanitizer products you may have heard of or tried, this one does not require a filter. Not having a filter means saving money and time...yay! The UV bulb lasts approximately 4,000 hours, which is about 166 days if you leave it plugged in all the time.

As I said, Germ Guardian offers a number of products that help us to naturally, effectively and safely control and prevent the spread of germs and bacteria in our homes. Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I Love Ya, Tomorrow...You're Only a Day Away!

This was the tune that went through my head as I woke up this morning thinking about the fact that tomorrow is Monday the 23rd...the day I go in to have our little one (unless he/she arrives before that-meaning today, but it's not looking that way). Whether it be during pregnancy, just after, or while nursing...every mama knows how sensitive your breasts can be during these times. The shower, which is supposed to be a "mini retreat", can be quite uncomfortable for this reason. Being 9 months pregnant and expecting to nurse our little one who is due any day now, I am SO happy I came across The Shower Hug.

When it first arrived in the mail, I was very impressed with the way they were packaged. Presented so beautifully would definitely make it a wonderful shower gift for any new or expecting Mom. I have really enjoyed the times I've been able to use it towards the end of my pregnancy, and know it will be wonderful to have while nursing.

There are a lot of toys out there, but in my opinion...finding good quality toys is usually not very easy. That's why I was happy to have had the opportunity to learn more about ebeanstalk and the good, safe toddler toys and kids toys they provide. Ebeanstalk is a great toy website dedicated to providing quality toys for children. What's great, is that they have Moms like you and me help them pick the toys they offer on their website. I was very excited to be asked to review the toy they sent called the Melissa and Doug Shapes Sound Puzzle! It's one of their many toys for a 2 year old which is just perfect for Kaelyn at this point in her development.

As a former preschool teacher and parent of a 2 year old...I am always looking for toys that are developmentally appropriate, educational and fun for Kaelyn. That's exactly what I found when we received this Melissa and Doug Sound Puzzle in the mail. I had no idea there was even such a thing...but am so happy we've had the chance to review it. Now I want all the sound puzzles available!

Kaelyn has always enjoyed puzzles but seems to get bored of them quickly. I was curious if she'd have the same issue with this puzzle. To my surprise she not only loved it, but it kept her occupied for a very long time! It's one of the first toys she pulls out in a day. Anytime another child is over to play, she gets out her new puzzle and shows it to them. She knows some of her shapes, but now that she's had the chance to play with a toy that actually encourages shape recognition through words...she's learning them even more quickly. We were shocked as we played with her one day and she pointed to the trapezoid and said "trapezoid".

This toy from Ebeanstalk is a lot of fun and definitely encourages learning...especially for Kaelyn who is an auditory and hands-on type of learner. I love how unique it is, and the fact that there are even more sound puzzles available is great! She'll definitely be getting one of the others for Christmas this year! As with any Melissa and Doug toy we've ever had or used, this product was very durable and great quality. I can see it lasting for a very long time!

I would definitely recommend this toy to any parent with a 2 year old. It's fun, it's educational and challenges them just enough where they enjoy playing with it for long lengths of time. It's gotten Kaelyn even more interested in doing other puzzles and learning her shapes. Melissa and Doug Sound Puzzles would be a great Christmas gift for young children.

I do my best to stay fit, but with all the responsibilities that comes along with being a wife and mom...some days the only exercise I get is chasing after our 2 year old daughter. After our second baby is born I know that it will become even more difficult to stick to an exercise routine. That's why I'm so glad there's a company like Tike Tech who has created a whole line of strollers which allow you to take the kids with you on jogs and walks. The selection of strollers they offer are perfect for the active parent and family.

I was thrilled when I found out that I would be receiving the this Tike Tech twin stroller to review. With our second child on the way...I couldn't be happier to have a double stroller that will allow me to take both kids on walks and jogs with me! There are many features about this stroller that I absolutely love!

When I first received it in the mail I was very impressed with the quality. It's heavy duty and something I know will last for years to come! I was a little nervous that it might be too large and heavy to use, but I couldn't have been more wrong. We've had the opportunity to use it with our daughter already and it's very easy to steer and push. The aluminum frame helps to keep it fairly light. It wasn't as wide as I expected, which was nice too. Some side by side strollers are far too large, but not this one at just 30 inches wide. I also love the 16 inch tires and dual rear suspension. It allows for a very smooth ride, even on rough terrain like grass and gravel.

The seats were another favorite of mine. They are padded and soft making it very comfortable for the riders. Each seat is independent of one another, meaning that they can recline separately and even have their own canopies with separate moon roofs for easy viewing of the kids. Since the seats do not recline all the way, this stroller is not recommended for newborns, but a child 6 weeks and up. There is a car seat adapter that can be purchased though, which would allow you take your newborn in the stroller that way. I couldn't believe how EASY the seats were to recline. It's a one handed clip system, where you just pull down on the clip and recline it to the position you'd like. For safety, the seat comes with a 5 point harness system that includes adjustable padded safety straps, shoulder pads and a chest strap.

We found this stroller to be very easy to open and close. By unlocking the safety latch you can easily open and close it by the push of a button on each side. I know there are some double strollers out there that are much more complicated to do this with. It is a larger stroller, so I wouldn't say that it folds down into a small size...however, it does fold down compact enough that we can easily fit it in the back of our smaller SUV. The wheels can be taken off to make this even easier. I like the Velcro holding strap that is included to help hold the stroller together once it's been folded.

Overall, we really like the Tike Tech X3 Sport Twin Stroller! It's the perfect gift this Christmas for the active family and parent who enjoys being outdoors going on walks and jogs. It's a little large...but not too big and definitely more narrow than I expected it to be. It's also comfortable and best of all...it's very safe with all of the safety features it offers.

With just one child, I often find myself wishing I had another hand to make multi-tasking easier. I remember when we first had Kaelyn, it was always important to me that she be laying on surfaces that were clean and comfortable for her. I want to do the same for this baby and now can put my mind at ease since I've found Ah Goo Baby and The Plush Pad.

When it arrived I have to say I was quite impressed with how compact it was. Rolled up, it's quite small and so easy to take wherever you need it. This is not a feature I have found with any other changing station and really like it.

As The Plush Pad is unrolled there are three snaps down the center to unsnap. This helps to keep the memory foam, and space where your baby lays, clean and free from unwanted germs. When unrolled completely, The Plush Pad offers the perfect amount of space for changing diapers, having tummy time, etc. It has to be the softest and most comfortable changing pad I've ever seen. I am really looking forward to being able to use it with our baby! It's made with super soft material that is not only water resistant, but also machine washable! This is not something you typically find with changing pads, as they are usually made of vinyl and plastic surfaces.

I am thrilled to have found The Plush Pad by Ah Goo Baby. It is definitely a must-have in my opinion and would make a fantastic gift for any new parent! I would love to get more as time goes on....as I think it would be nice to have one at the Grandparents' houses and even in the car.
