Fun in the Sun #13: Essential Swimwear Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Thursday, June 09, 2011

There are many things I love about summer...the warm weather, time spent outdoors, vacations and being able to dress without layers and jackets. A highlight of our summer is the time we spend in the water (the lake, pool, etc). The only downside to this, is finding myself a swimsuit. Since having children shopping for swimwear is becoming something I dread. My body is not the same as it used to be and finding a swimsuit that is stylish, flattering and covers me well is not always easy. That's why I'm thankful for Essential Swimwear.
Frustrated with expensive prices, wrong fits and the hassle of searching online for hours, Brittney became discouraged and came to the conclusion that there was not a perfect swimsuit out there. After a lot of trial and error, she began creating swimsuits that were comfortable, stylish and flattering! As she made suits for her friends and family....word started spreading and she ended up being able to design a line of swimsuits. With styles, designs and prices that fit the needs of women it's no wonder Essential Swimwear continues to grow.

Last summer I was introduced to Essential Swimwear and their great swimsuits. I had the opportunity to review the Ocean Waves Tankini and love it just as much to this day! The quality is fantastic and best of all it's both flattering and modest. Having had such a great experience in the past, I couldn't have been happier when asked if I'd like to review another one of their suits this summer.

As with last time, deciding which swimsuit to review was the hardest part. After browsing through their cute tankinis, I decided to go with the Watermelon Dots Halter Top and the Watermelon High Waist Bottoms.

When the swimsuit arrived, I was looking forward to seeing how it would compare to the other swimsuit I have. Right out of the package, I fell in love. Once again, Essential Swimwear did not disappoint!

I absolutely love the watermelon color, as well as the print. It's a lot of fun and very stylish. I was also impressed with the quality. It's exactly what I look for in a swimsuit and something I know I'll be able to get a lot of use out of.

As much as I loved the look and style, I couldn't help but wonder how I'd like it on. I am very picky when it comes to swimsuits and need for it to lay and cover me perfectly. Thankfully, I couldn't have been happier. I absolutely love this tankini! I really like the halter style top, as it's flattering and provides the support I need. It ties under the bust which allows me to get a fit I am comfortable with also. I couldn't believe how comfortable and flattering this modest swimsuit is! The length is great and it covers me in all the right places. I don't have to worry about the top riding up and pulling down when I pick up my kids. It's wonderful!

I was pleasantly surprised how well I liked the swimsuit bottoms as well. They are the high waist bottoms, so I couldn't help but wonder if the tummy control might be too uncomfortable. Having worn the swimsuit a couple of times now, I can tell you that it actually adds to the comfort of the swimsuit and gives me confidence while wearing them. They are very flattering and the tummy-tuck band makes them even better. Since I'm 4 months pregnant now, I have been folding down the band a bit to make it more comfortable which I love being able to do. It's nice that both the top and bottoms can be customized to different body types. I also appreciate the great coverage. The leg cut on these bottoms is a medium cut to ensure that they are still flattering, while keeping me covered. I love it!

As I said, I have had the chance to wear it a couple of times already this summer and really appreciate the comfortable, modest fit. I also love how stylish and cute it is as well! I really like everything about it and have been trying to wear it as much as possible before my baby bump is too big. At that point, I'll be looking forward to getting it out again next summer!
