Mommy's Medicine Cabinet Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Monday, March 14, 2011

With two little ones, I've learned there are many necessities I need to take along when we're on vacation, at the mall, etc in case of an emergency. The problem is, as I quickly pack up the diaper bag each time we leave the house, I am forever forgetting something. Whether it be diaper cream, a thermometer or something else...it never fails that the one thing I forget, we need. I have been looking for a solution, one that keeps everything together giving me one less thing to worry about remembering when leaving the house. That's why I am thankful to have been introduced to Mommy's Medicine Cabinet.

As parents of three children, founders Priscilla and Mike Thomas knew the importance of having all of the first-aid and over-the-counter medications together and ready to go when their children were sick or injured (particularly when away from home). They realized the need for a comprehensive kit of commonly used products that parents could rely on and so, Mommy's Medicine Cabinet was born. This doctor-recommended, well-organized bag of the most frequently used, non-prescription medicines and first-aid products is the go-to-product for parents with sick or injured children.

As I browsed their website for the first time, I found that there are three different Mommy's Medicine Cabinets available: an Infants' Medicine Cabinet, a Children's Medicine Cabinet and a Deluxe Medicine Cabinet (which includes products for children 0-6 years of age).

I couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review the Deluxe Medicine Cabinet which includes:

  • The 'Kate' Bag
  • Liquid Antihistamine (4 oz.)
  • Hydrocortisone (1 oz.)
  • Acetaminophen chews (30 count)
  • Bee sting swabs (5 count)
  • Infant Nail Care Trio (clipper, nail file, manicure scissors)
  • Probe Covers (30 count)
  • Digital Thermometer
  • Children's Ibuprofen Liquid (4 oz)
  • Alcohol Wipes (6 count)
  • Nasal Saline (1.5 oz)
  • Baby Wipes Travel Pack (30 count)
  • Calcium Carbonate (150 count)
  • Bandages (30 count)
  • Triple Antibacterial Ointment (1 oz)
  • Diaper Rash Ointment (4 oz)
  • Petroleum Jelly (3.75 oz)
  • Cotton Swabs (30 count)
  • Nasal Aspirator
The Deluxe Medicine Cabinet is perfect for us, as we have a 1 year old and 3 year old. Having products that range from newborn all the way up to 6 years old means this bag suits the needs of both our kids.

When it arrived, I was excited to check it out. It arrived, beautifully packaged in their signature MMC box wrapped in Magenta tissue with a MMC logo sticker. I love when companies take care into the way their products are packaged, and Mommy's Medicine Cabinet definitely did not disappoint.

As much as I loved admiring the beautiful packaging, I was very eager to check out the Deluxe Medicine Cabinet. Upon first glance, I was instantly impressed with the stylish, designer travel bag, named after Priscilla and Mike's daughter, Kate. The quality is amazing and something I can tell will last us a very long time. Everything from the sleek design and stylish material to the convenient handles makes this a bag I'm proud to carry with me wherever we go.

Unzipping the bag, I found there are two zippered compartments to keep everything organized and in it's place. I love that the inside material is very easy to wipe and keep clean. Each compartment is a good size, holding many products that any parent would find useful when away from home.

In fact, I couldn't believe just how much this nice sized bag holds. Wow. Just look at everything included!

It's amazing to me how many times the Deluxe Kate Bag has already come in handy. My husband and I were recently away on a trip to Jamaica, and had my parents watch the kids. It was so nice having all of their medications and other first-aid supplies all in one place and ready if they needed them. Not only is it a great thing to take along on vacation, to a Grandparent's house, etc...but I also have found it's great to throw in the back of the car when were simply running errands. You never know when you're going to need one of these items, and that's what makes this product so great!

I love that so much thought was put into making Mommy's Medicine Cabinet so convenient for busy parents. It's wonderful having everything together and easy to find, but another neat feature is that there is a FREE notification service where you will be notified when the products you purchase from them are about to expire or if they have been recalled by the manufacturer or the FDA. We've all been there, searching for the expiration date or wondering if a product has been recalled, so this is something I truly appreciate.

I think it's great that a person can order directly from the website, and when it comes time to re-order medicines, that can be done quickly and efficiently on the Mommy's Medicine Cabinet website as well making it easy to keep your kit complete and up-to-date.

I have been thrilled with Mommy's Medicine Cabinet and wish I had not gone so long without it. It definitely makes my life easier as a busy mom and best of all, it keeps me prepared at all times in case of an emergency. Their infant bag is even TSA compliant which makes traveling even easier. It's so much more than just a medical kit and a product every mom should have in my opinion. It would make a terrific baby shower or Mother's Day Gift (which is just around the corner!).
