Plow & Hearth Review and $50 GC Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Monday, January 17, 2011

At the start of a New Year, many of us make resolutions. If you're like me, one of those is to get more organized. It seems the busier life gets, the less organized I become. With our house for sale, my husband and I have been working hard to organize each and every room in our house...even the garage. As I was looking for ways to make the process easier, I came across Plow & Hearth and their great selection of products.
A trusted national catalog, retail and internet company, Plow & Hearth specializes in unique enduring home and lifestyle products that are quality-built and guaranteed to meet customer's expectations. Having grown a lot over the past quarter-century, they still remain dedicated to the same principles that have guided them from the beginning...honest, integrity and commitment to customer service.

When I first came across Plow & Hearth, I was impressed with their large selection of products. I had a fun time browsing through everything from their Hearth & Home section to their Yard & Garden section. As I browsed the shop by room category, I was especially drawn to several of their organizational products, and couldn't have been happier to learn we were going to have the opportunity to review one.

Plow & Hearth sent us the 3-Drawer Tower to review.

Features/Benefits:

  • Fully assembled
  • Sturdy resin construction
  • Maintenance-Free
  • Great size -42-1/2"H x 18"W x 18"D
  • 1 small drawer and 2 large drawers
  • Drawers glide into cabinet on rollers
  • Removable drawers can be used as portable bins
  • Latches for each drawer allow for secure closure
  • Entire storage tower is on casters
When the 3-Drawer Tower arrived, I was excited to check it out. As I pulled it out of the box, I was happy to find that it comes fully assembled (other than the wheels which click on in seconds). Although I don't mind products that require me to put them together, as a busy mom it's always nice when the work has already been done for me!

I could immediately tell that the quality is great! The sturdy resin construction really makes it something that we can use for almost anything. The material is also one that won't rust, fade or peel..so I know it will last us a long time!

I was also impressed with the size. Although I read that it was 42-1/2"H x 18"W x 18"D online, in person it seemed even larger than I expected (not too big, but larger enough to store a good amount of things). That was definitely a pleasant surprise...the more storage space, the better!

Before we received the 3-Drawer Tower, I had in mind that we would probably use it in our garage. And, although I think it would work great in there...the quality and appearance (with the light taupe body and blue drawers) actually makes it a very nice storage unit to have inside the house. We decided to put it in our laundry room which has worked out great for everything from detergent and fabric softner to other things we need to keep organized in one convenient place.

I love that there is one smaller drawer, as well as two larger drawers. Each one really holds a lot of things...as they're quite deep and very sturdy. What's neat is, that they not only glide using rollers, but they can actually be easily removed and used as portable bins as well. Having used it, I could see this making a super product for sorting out our recyclables and think we may end up getting one to do just that (as well as another for all my hubby's things in the garage).

The entire storage unit is on casters which provide easy mobility too. I love it!

Another feature I love...especially when there are things I don't want my kids getting into like laundry detergents...is that each drawer latches for a secure closure. It's easy, and very effective.

Overall we've been very happy with the 3-Drawer Tower, and as I said...would like to purchase more in the future. It's a simple way to stay more organized...and being such great quality and a nice size...something I think would be perfect for lots of different uses.

Of course, the 3-Drawer Tower is just one of many products offered at Plow & Hearth. No matter if you're looking for home accents, bakeware, apparel, or something else...they have a great selection and something for everyone.
