Checking Our List #20: Aeromax My 1st Career Gear Review & Giveaway

Posted by Jenna | Tuesday, November 23, 2010

As time goes on, Kaelyn enjoys playing dress-up more and more. Make-believe is a magical part of childhood, and it's really neat to see costumes adding so much fun to her imaginative play! I am always on the lookout for gear like this, which is why I love Aeromax. They help parents find a great selection of realistic, affordable dress-up gear for their kids all in one location.

Founded 13 years ago, Aeromax began when President Mark Levine created one product...the Aeromax 2000 Tangle Free Toy parachute. Over the years, the product line has continued to grow, now offering more than 300 (and counting) items as well as every top toy industry award.

The first time I came across Aeromax, I was very impressed! Having two little ones, their great range of dress-up clothes especially caught my attention right away. Aeromax has it all when it comes to must-have pretend wear for both boys and girls! Whether you're looking for hats, career gear (doctors, policemen, etc) or toys...they have something for everyone.

I was excited to learn that we were going to have the opportunity to review something from their My 1st Career Gear line!

As I browsed through their selection, the My 1st Career Gear Police stuck out to me right away! Kaelyn's Grandpa is a police officer and as she gets older she shows a lot of interest in his job and what he does. I knew she'd be just tickled to have a costume she could dress up in that looks like Grandpa! I was right!!

Features:

  • Easy-on shirt
  • Printed with a badge, arm patches and sergeant stripes
  • Fits most ages 3-6
When it arrived, it was even more cute in person! The colors are so bright and vibrant...really something that catches the interest of both children and adults alike. Kaelyn was immediately drawn to it!

I was also really impressed by the quality right from the start. It's very well-made and something I can see lasting us a very long time. With all the use it will get by Kaelyn (and one day Kaden), this is very much appreciated! It's also machine washable which is a must!

Of course, it's the details that really make this Police vest one-of-a-kind. There are badges, patches and a belt with accessories printed right on it. I really like the fact that it's on the outfit, rather than actual toy accessories. This allows for Kaelyn to still be able to dress-up like a Police Officer and use her imagination without having all the toys to misplace.

She was excited to try it on, and to my surprise, it couldn't have been easier for her to do by herself. The Velcro closures on the front make it possible for her to put it on and take it off when ever she likes. I love the fact that it goes on right over her clothes so easily. So many of her dress-up items require that she get undressed to put it on. This often results in her clothes being all over the place and usually me needing to help her get it on and off....so having something so convenient is great!

It's made to fit children ages 3-6, so it is a bit big...however, it still fits her very well. I actually like the fact that's it's a little on the big side, as I know it will provide many more years of play. The fact that it's something a boy could easily dress up in and wear too, is great as well. I know Kaden will love to play in it just as much when he's big enough to wear it.

The vest is absolutely adorable, but my favorite part (and probably Kaelyn's as well) is the pocket window on the chest. This makes it possible to personalize the vest to your child. We wrote Kaelyn's name on a piece of paper and slid it in there. She now walks around pointing to it saying, "I'm Officer Kaelyn". Having the opportunity to personalize it just for her makes it that much more real and fun for her to play dress-up in.

We've been very happy with the My 1st Career Gear from Aeromax! Not only is the quality fantastic, but the detail and thought that went into making it just perfect for kids is what really makes it so great. I have enjoyed watching Kaelyn as she pretends to be a Police Officer and love that this vest helps to encourages unlimited imaginations!

There are several great My 1st Career Gear items, hats, accessories, and other dress up gear for kids to choose from at Aeromax. With everything from Fairy Costumes to Firefighter Gear, you're sure to find something that suits your child's interests and allows them to be all they want to be. Their adorable and incredibly affordable dress-up gear would make a great Christmas gift for children of all ages on your list this year.
