Checking Our List #12: My Pillow Pets Magical Unicorn Review & Giveaway

Most children probably have memories of a special stuffed animal they had growing up. One that provided comfort and companionship. Kaelyn is no different. From the time she was very young...she's had several stuffed animal friends that have gone with her wherever she goes. Although they hold a very special place in her heart, nothing seems to compare to the love she has for her soft, cuddly Pillow Pets.

The need for transforming a traditional stuffed animal into a functional item for children came when a San Diego-based mother of two grew tired of picking up stuffed animals all over her children's rooms. The idea proved to be more popular than ever expected, and for the past 7 years, Pillow Pets has been bringing smiles to children's faces of all ages and are sold in more than 1,500 retail locations throughout the U.S.! Pillow Pets has grown from their initial collection of just six different animals to now offering more than 20 styles and a number of other new products like backpacks, hats and blankets.

Last Spring we had the opportunity to review Puffy Duck. He has provided hours of cuddling and fun since that time, which is why I knew the kids would love the chance to snuggle with another. I have to admit that even I was excited to meet Magical Unicorn when asked if we'd like to review her!

When it arrived my first thought was that the pictures online do not do justice to how beautiful the purple and pink colors are on Magical Unicorn!

The moment Kaelyn saw it she was in love!

Of course, I couldn't wait to check out all the details to see how it compared to Puffy Duck. Once again, Pillow Pets did not disappoint. The quality is amazing! Made of high quality, super soft chenille, it is something any child (and adult) can't help but want to hug and hold.

With a strap that closes underneath, it transforms the pillow into a friendly pet. I am still amazed how well the Velcro holds it together when used as a pet. Absolutely genius! This is one of those products that always has me asking, 'Why didn't I think of that?!'. This kind of versatility makes it an ideal travel pal and an all around snuggly friend. It can easily be used for naptime and play, as well as taken along in the car or to Grandma's!


Pillow Pets are so much more than a stuffed animal. The unicorn has become a companion Kaelyn doesn't want to put down. She carries it around with her when she plays, lays on it when watching tv, and of course....MUST have it in bed with her for every nap and at night!

Even Kaden has enjoyed laying on it and playing with it!
